The Chilean group Los Jaivas, which released an album 30 years ago inspired by the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, will play in this city on 7 July, central day of the commemoration of the centenary of the “discovery ” of this world wonder.
The festivities continue the next day with a dance competition of the 13 provinces of Cusco and a concert of Jaivas, this time in the Plaza de Armas in Cusco.
This band from Chile, who lived in exile during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet “has done much musically speaking”for contributing to the promotion of the Inca citadel.
