Cusco, the historic capital of the prehispanic Peru. The name of the city is Quechua Qusqu or Qosqo. Tradition says that means center, belt, belly button. Again, according to Inca mythology, in it converged the world below (Uku Pacha) with the visible world (Kay Pacha) and the upper world (Hanan Pacha). It is no coincidence then that Cusco was and is called the navel of the world.
